Ainol Electronics is a Shenzhen based 2nd-tier China's tablet manufacture. Upsangel own a Ainol Aurora II 7'' inch tablet, a dual-core model which is released in 2012. Comparing to its rivals, Ainol featured for its strong technical support. I was impressed that Ainol's official forum is popular. Geeks released their mods or other DIY tips via the forum, which maganitizes more technical user in the gang. In contrast to other manufacturers' forum, there only a few general threads, deserted.

Number and update frequency of Customized ROM is always a very effective way to valuate the popularity and DIYability of an android device. It applies to tablet too. Ainol's official ROM keeps update once in two or three months until it matures. Ainol users are also offered many alternatives of customized ROM, including the poplular Feiyu's ROM and CM ROM.

Tips on Sourcing / Buying Ainol's Tablet

  1. Lets look at the model code first: for example "Novo8 Discovery" The "8" after Novo indicates it is a 8'' product. Then choose the CPU set, "Novo8 Discovery" is a ARM CPU based model. The detailed specs write it is equipd with IPS screen. Normally Ainol will have one high-end model with IPS screen and a lower-end model with normal screen (in same resolution, and other configs are the same), for example "Novo8 Discovery" is the IPS one and "Novo8 Dream" is the cheaper one.
